Weekly Newsletter - Week 3

Week three passed by in a wonderful blur!!
On Monday, we went to the EcoMuseum where we got to see many animals including eagles, raccoons, porcupines, deer, bears and many more. Back at camp, we baked our very own salted and sweet yummy pretzels. You bet I’m gonna make some more at home.
On Tuesday, we decorated mirrors. The mirrors remind us to love our friends just like what we see in the mirrors – ourselves. We also had fun playing kickball, this week’s sport.
Wednesday was a fun filled day at the Old Port. We had a blast PedalBoating, wore our muscles out at Quadricycling and climbed 192 stairs all the way up the clock tower. I think I saw my house from up there, did you?
After our refreshing swimming lessons on Thursday, we decorated cute Tzedakah boxes that we’ll keep in our rooms and give a penny each day. We had real fun races in the park and a scavenger hunt.
On Friday, we ended our week at camp with Challah baking, acting out the Parsha – I think we have a future in theater – and a grand Shabbat party. We also couldn’t wait to see our friends again at the old peoples home and wish them a great Shabbat Shalom!
What a great week we had! Can’t wait to see you again next week!

Weekly Newsletter - Week 2

What a wonderful second week we had in camp!
On Monday, we went to the fire station for a great tour. We learned all about fire safety from the friendly firefighters. Our counselor Amanda got to go up on the ladder of the fire truck and we got to spray everyone with the huge water hose. We even got to try on their uniforms, boy are they heavy! When we got back to camp, we made delicious chocolate balls and had a blast with water fun outside.
On Tuesday, we made beautiful flower shadow boxes for the third day of creation. We also went to the park and played the sport of the day – basketball.
Wednesday was a full day of coolness!! What a great time we had ice skating. If only we could have stayed longer and cooled off some more!!
After swimming lessons on Thursday, we made fancy napkin holders for our Shabbat tables. We also had a police lady come and talk to us a bit about safety. We had a chance to see how they handcuff people who do bad stuff and we all rode in the police car with the siren on. Yay Zelda! She was our paperclip hunt winner.
On Friday, we baked and decorated yummy cookies for Shabbat, did our regular Parsha and acted it out and had a great Shabbat party. We began a beautiful art project which will take us a couple of weeks to finish and we went to visit our friends in the old people’s home to bring them some challah and sing for them in honor of Shabbat.
We hope you all enjoyed your great week in camp ‘cuz we sure did! Hope to see you all next week for some more great fun!
