Preheat oven to 350
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup milk or soy milk
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- chocolate frosting and/or toppings of your choice
- Grease a 8 or 9 inch round baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, & baking powder.
- Add the milk, oil, vanilla and egg.
- Beat with a mixer for about 3 minutes until all combined and batter is creamy.
- Pour the batter in the prepared pan.
- Place the pan in the oven for 30 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the cake should come out clean. If not, bake for another 5 minutes.
- Remove the cake from the oven and cool for 10 minutes.
- Frost up the cake and top with the toppings of your choice.
