Weekly Newsletter- Week 5

Camp Mazal had a blast this week! We started off by visiting the wildlife at the Eco Museum: wolves and caribous, porcupines, coyotes and bears and much more! Then, for this week’s holiday of Pesach, we reenacted the story of the Jewish people in Egypt. We learned about the laws of the 8-day-holiday as well as some of the preparations, namely: GIVING YOUR HOUSE A DEEP SCRUB! And so, we made our very own cool soap bars! On Wednesday, we climbed the Old Port of Montreal’s Clock Tower! 192 stairs! And, we all made it to the top! Good work Campers! We then did some pedal boating and rode on quadricycles. What a fun filled day… and workout!! On Thursday, the rain didn’t take away our camp spirit: who can stay out the longest?! We sang Shaften Mayim B’Sasson dancing in the rain! We then worked hard on our beautiful HaAdama masterpieces with sequins and needles on a black material background. We shaped out different foods that have the bracha of HaAdama: foods that grow from the ground/earth. We topped off our week by celebrating our Shabbat Party in PJ’s and celebrated our most favorite counselor’s birthday! Mazal Tov Rivkah Chana, we love you!
Stay tuned for next week as we approach our last week of Camp Mazal Summer Fun!
Good Shabbat to you all from your dear counselors,
Zohara
Rivkah Chana and
Chana Raizel
