Kids Cook - Recipe of the Day
TASTY Chocolate Truffle Balls
2/3 cup heavy cream or whip cream Toppers: 2 tbls cocoa powder, confectioner’s sugar, finely chopped almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios and/or sprinkles
- Chop chocolate finely
- Pour cream in pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Add chocolate and stir to melt and until mixture becomes thick almost like a paste. Cover and chill until firm, about 2 hours.
- With a small melon baller, make balls about 1 inch in size.
- Place toppers in small bowls individually and roll the chocolate balls into desired toppers.
- Place on parchment paper and cover with plastic. Chill until ready to serve.
Makes about 18 truffles.
The chocolate balls can be placed in the fridge for up to 10 days or for longer in the freezer.
Once you start eating these, you won’t be able to stop! Enjoy!!

WEEKLY NEWSLETTER - Week 1
Welcome to Camp Mazal! What a great first week we had together!
On Monday, after lineup, prayers and exercise we went on our first trip bowling!
Back at camp we played musical chairs, baked delicious chocolate muffins which we also decorated. We also had outdoor water fun – even in the rain!
Tuesday we had swimming lessons. We decorated our camp t-shirts with our Jewish names and also made a beautiful art project with our names. We had lots of fun playing soccer!
On Wednesday, we had a full day trip to Laval Nature Center. We got to see and even pet some deer, horses, goats, birds, fish and many other animals.
We went on a wonderful canoe ride on the lake that we helped with paddling, walked along the beautiful nature path and played in the park.
On Thursday, we decorated our very own cork boards which can be used to hang up anything you'd like.
HAPPY BIRHTDAY ZELDA SIROTA!!!
We had a special birthday party in honor of Zelda's 6th birthday and had delicious cake that Ariane made!
We played a really fun game where we were blindfolded and had the first person you touched you had to guess who it was.
We also played Pass the balloon, had fun doing all the missions that were inside them and did all sorts of fun races.
For Friday, we made yummy Challa, had a fun shabbat party, acted out the Torah portion of the week, did cute arts and crafts, visited the old and sick people to wish them a good Shabbat and had an awesome time during water fun with the water slide.
What a awesome week we had this week. Can’t wait for what’s coming up next week!
